Winter League
Over the past few years, at the end of the season I ask our Seniors, “what made the biggest difference this season?” The answer I’ve received each time is “winter ball”.
Winter league is played in Montville (at World of Sports indoor complex), January (4th is first game) through March on Sundays for 1 hour. It’s a great time to get a stick in your hand, get a workout and build a bond with your team. It’s just an hour so it shouldn’t interfere too much with winter sports or work schedules (early Sunday mornings).
Old Saybrook has fielded a team for at least the past 3 seasons (and made the conference finals in two of those, coincidence?). In the past we’ve played teams from Stonington, Valley, Norwich, and others. We play with both poles and short sticks.
The refs there are often our refs in Spring, so here’s another opportunity to be friendly and chat them up.
How do you sign up? Mrs. Sarah Percival is managing sign ups. Season of play is $145/player. You can venmo (Sarah-Percival-3) last 4 digits of phone # are 2589. You can reach Mrs. Percival at sarahpercival@comcast.net. Let a captains (Grey, Julian and/or Jamison) know you are in. Let’s get after it.
And, if $145 is too much for you please reach out to Coach Mason. No one that wants to play will be refused because of money. We got you.
